Women TIES is pleased to return to the Southern Tier with one more program in 2019 to educate women in the room, give them a chance to market any 2019 holiday items or 2020 services or products. We are bringing an out-of-town speaker known for her social media marketing knowledge since this topic was requested at our March meeting.

Social media seems to be the big buzzword in today’s social circles. We often hear how we should be active on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or other social media outlets. Have you ever wondered whether social media really offers a benefit? Or is it just the latest trend? This presentation will look at social media, and address the following questions, “Is social media really beneficial as a means of communication?” and “Does it really change the way we do business?”

At the Women TIES Greater Binghamton Event, Jeannine Papelino, Founder of IntreXDesign & Associates based in Utica, New York, will discuss how social media is used, how it affects our decisions, and the impact social media has had on our lives. We’ll also look at the pros and cons of social media in relation to other forms of marketing; addressing which type of marketing you should use and when.

Please note: This presentation is about social media and its impact on us, it will not discuss how to use any part of the applications.

The event is sponsored by the Women’s Business Center of New York State based in Utica, but serving 20+ counties in New York State including the Southern Tier counties. Find out about their free services to assist you and your business. Learn more about them at www.nywbc.org.

Women TIES is excited to return to the Albany & Saratoga Region with a special event after a year and a half absence due to President Tracy Higginbotham’s medical sabbatical. We are bringing along our partner the Women’s Business Center to join us in our return to enlighten your business horizons for 2020.

Social media has changed since it became a useful tool for women entrepreneurs. According to an article in Franchising.com, women and Millennials who own and operate small businesses are more likely to use social media in their businesses. The data reveals that among women-owned businesses, 74 percent use social media, compared to just 66 percent of men-owned businesses. “Women are generally better conversationalists than men,” said Jeff Gibbard, chief social strategist at digital agency I’m From the Future. “They tend to be more expressive and more emotive. It’s no surprise to me why more women business owners use social media.” Women often communicate better than men, which translates to the online world, where they are more likely to use social media effectively.”

At the Women TIES Greater Saratoga and Albany Event, “What’s Working Today in Social Media” speaker Dale L’Ecuyer, “From Pain to Purpose” Facebook series, who has grown her business using live videos and more social media will explain ways it can assist other women entrepreneurs. Learn how Dale uses Facebook Live Video function regularly to grow followers and develop customers through know, like and trust phases, enlarges her potential customer reach and finds new collaborative partners. This is a perfect topic for any woman looking to do the same in 2020.

The event is sponsored by the New York Women’s Business Center. Since July 2001 the WBC of NYS has successfully helped more than 10,500 women in the 29 county SBA Syracuse District Region. They are committed to expanding and evolving to meet the growing needs of women entrepreneurs in our region. Learn more at http://www.nywbc.org
