UTICA, NY – JULY 5, 2019 – The Women’s Business Center of New York State and the Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center is pleased to present a LIVE online workshop developed specifically for the education and growth of current and aspiring entrepreneurs! The Business Smart Workshop will be presented in three weekly webinars beginning on July 17th at noon.
The goal of the webinar series is to provide current and aspiring entrepreneurs with business knowledge and connect them to local support and resources. The workshop is free and was developed by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders.
Participants of the webinars will:
1. Gain a basic understanding of the key steps to getting their business off the ground.
2. Learn about various financing options and what banks look for when lending money.
3. Learn about the local resources available to assist them in starting and growing a small business.
The scheduled dates and times for the live webinars are on 3 Wednesdays, July 17th, 24th and 30th each beginning at noon and lasting approximately 2 hours. Participants of the live webinars will have the ability to ask questions through the presentation.
Each webinar will be recorded and distributed to properly registered participants allowing for the viewing and reviewing of the material at a later time.

The Business Smart Workshop is subsidized by the Small Business Administration (SBA) along with SBDCs, SCORE Chapters and Entrepreneur Assistance Programs located in the 29-county service area of The Women’s Business Center of NYS. This includes the Albany Capital Region, the Greater Watertown area, the Greater Binghamton area, the Utica-Rome area and points in between.
Webinars are presented by Scott Mathias. Scott serves as Executive Vice President of the New Hartford Chamber of Commerce has been an entrepreneur his whole life. He is a business consultant to several upstate NY businesses and nonprofit organizations with a focus on marketing, membership, communications and real estate.
